**Job description**:
Border Force check all passengers and freight arriving in the UK by air and sea and conduct intelligence-led searches for prohibited, counterfeit or restricted goods such as drugs, firearms, weapons, cash, tobacco, and alcohol. We also support the department’s wider agenda in high-profile areas such as counter terrorism, tackling organised crime, modern slavery, and human trafficking. This is some of the most important and challenging work in Government and its impact can be felt in communities across the UK.

**Manston Operations Private Office Executive Support**

The work of the Manston Operations Command includes:

- Working across the borders and immigration systems to support the UK Returns campaign including special operations and the Migration and Economic Development Partnership and other strategic priorities.

This is a full-time role due to business needs.

**Person specification**:
Private Office Executive Support Officers can expect to have a varied and exciting role.

You will be required to:

- Manage and lead a team of officers, including monitoring and recording performance and attendance, ensuring completion of mandatory e-learning and performance related administrative tasks and and embrace a positive culture to make ‘Manston a better place to work.’
- Support the Manston Private Office in developing governance across the Manston system to improve accountability and performance.
- Arrange visits and itineraries for Manston visitors.
- Develop Manston communications, including induction packs for staff, and taking an active role in ensuring compliance with Manston Safe Systems of Work.
- Director Executive Support - Support the Manston Director at regular high profile meetings (including suppliers), taking action points and notes. Responsibility for managing the Manston Director's inbox and ensuring the Director's diary is reviewed daily and take forward any necessary actions.
- Business and Finance - Develop governance structures, and work across Manston Estates and Future Building Capability teams to ensure Director is fully sighted on spend, risks and issues.
- Briefing and Communications - Develop governance structures and work across Manston Teams and wider to deliver a media and communications strategy. Build a performance system to reflect Manston responses to FOIs/PQs and media commissions ensuring clear lines of governance and clearance. Draft responses ensuring all the relevant information is available.
- Logistics and Diary - Fully accountable for managing Directors diary and provision of support to visits. Work closely and maintain relationships with other Secretariats.
- Learning and Development - Develop governance and structures to support Manston training and learning opportunities ensuring good controls are in place and that colleagues are fully supported with development opportunities. Develop wellbeing opportunities and monitor Metis and other training systems.
