**Job description**:
Border Force check all passengers and freight arriving in the UK by air and sea and conduct intelligence-led searches for prohibited, counterfeit or restricted goods such as drugs, firearms, weapons, cash, tobacco, and alcohol. We also support the department’s wider agenda in high-profile areas such as counter terrorism, tackling organised crime, modern slavery, and human trafficking. This is some of the most important and challenging work in Government and its impact can be felt in communities across the UK.
**Manston Operations Command Contract Performance Monitor**
The Contract Performance Monitor is a varied role, responsible for monitoring escorting provider activity with a strong focus on detainee welfare issues and professional excellence, addressing concerns with the escorting provider.
Operating in Manston Reception Centre, you will develop and maintain excellent working partnerships with escorting providers and Borders and Enforcement partners, identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
**Person specification**:
As a Contract Performance Monitor you will be required to:
- Report, in real time, on contractual compliance for removal activity, holding room management, vehicle journeys, charter flights and on site security compliance.
- Accurately identify and record service failures.
- Analyse written reports by Detention Custody Officers.
- Manage incidents and solve problems.
- Champion detainee’s welfare needs, particularly vulnerable adults, working in partnership with the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) and HM Inspectorate of Prisons (HMI Prisons).
