Experienced Head Baker for Artisan Bakery

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Baker to lead our artisan bakery, which operates three shops in the vibrant city of Birmingham. If you have a deep understanding of the art of bread-making, a creative flair for pastries, and a desire to share your expertise with a dedicated team, this opportunity is perfect for you.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the daily operations bakery, ensuring the production of exceptional bread and pastry products.
- Lead a team of bakers, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high-quality standards.
- Develop and refine recipes, techniques, and processes to ensure consistency and excellence in all baked goods.
- Expertly hand shape, mould, and mix doughs, using your extensive knowledge and experience.
- Create an array of delectable pastries, including brownies, cakes, croissants, and more, showcasing your mastery in pastry arts.
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage cost control to optimize bakery operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Collaborate with the management team to innovate and introduce new products and flavors, staying ahead of market trends.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Head Baker or similar role, with a track record of success in artisan bakeries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hand shaping, moulding, and mixing techniques, enabling you to produce artisanal bread of the highest quality.
- Proficiency in pastry arts, demonstrated through the creation of indulgent treats such as brownies, cakes, croissants, and more.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of motivating and mentoring a team to achieve outstanding results.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities to ensure smooth bakery operations across multiple locations.
- Passion for creativity and innovation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with team members and customers alike.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in the bakery industry.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Birmingham, B24 9QR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
