**The role**
Our Tech4Good client is at the forefront of the drive towards cleaner, safer and smarter cities and is looking to bring a Senior Backend Developer into their core product delivery team which is based in Newcastle city centre. They are at an exciting stage intheir growth and ranked top 10 for IP in their industry so now need additional experience & expertise to help bring their products out to the world.

**Skills and experience**
To do this role, our client would like you to have:
- 5+ years' experience in a Backend related role (especially Python)
- Excellent code craftsmanship and software design skills
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- A strong interest in best practice ways of working such as DevOps, TDD, Trunk-based Development, CI/CD and XP
- Excellent communication skills and interest in a pair-programming environment
- An understanding of agile development practices
- Experience of, or an interest in, mentoring and supporting developers in your team
- Experience of leading a BE development team
- Good version control (Git) skills
Nice to haves:
- Hands-on system and user administration experience in an AWS environment
- Knowledge of using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- An interest in Platform Engineering/DevOps
