- Have an interest in responsive and intentional planning, and understanding what this means.
- Has the skills and ability to lead the practitioners, supporting them develop practice and how to improve outcomes for children.
- Has the skills and ability to set a clear structure of the day to day learning environment, giving children choice and promoting independence.
- Have a good understanding of the importance of positive behaviour management and being creative to develop this within the room.
- Have a solid knowledge of different ELC initiatives, policies and guidance that are relevant and current.
- Be willing to take on further training programmes to help develop your practice (this is usually out of work time).
- Can demonstrate commitment and passion towards the business.
- Have experience with planning, floor books, mind maps and talking tubs.
- Be able to ensure daily schedules are met, checked and signed off each day.
- Be able to develop a self-evaluation floor book within the baby room and setting at a whole.
- Be available to help support the manager if required with other aspects of the nursery.
- Must hold an SVQ 3 or equivalent and possibly be willing to work towards a Batchelor of Arts in Childhood practice
- Must have supervisory knowledge or experience.
