AK Teaching are currently working in partnership with a Primary School in Forest Hall, Newcastle who are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support in the Nursery. The successful applicant will have previous experience in a TA role and must hold a recognised Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3 Qualification or an Educational Degree.

**JOB ROLE**

This Teaching Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in children's education, drawing on your commitment to developing pupil learning ability and knowledge accessibility.

Working closely with class teachers you will be helping a small group of learners to expand their knowledge and play a positive role in school life. You will utilize your knowledge, communication skills and creativity to help them understand the information presented.

Hours for this Teaching Assistant role would be11:50-14:50 and it will be 5 days a week, commencing after half term.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Getting the classroom ready for lessons
- Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
- Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
- Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
- Supervising group activities
- Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
- Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
- Helping with outings and sports events
- Taking part in training
- Carrying out administrative tasks
- Flexibility and creativity
- An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults
- Good organisational skills
- Enjoy working with children
- An ability to work confidently with children, with a professional approach
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behaviour
- Patience and a sense of humour
- A level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or Educational Degree
- Experience working in schools or educational settings
- Eligibility to work in the UK (Two references, including your current or most recent employer)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Temporary contract, Temp to perm

**Salary**: £75.00-£90.00 per day

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newcastle upon Tyne: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
