This role is working at British Gypsum, part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland. A market leading manufacturer of gypsum-based building materials from insulation, wall lining dry boards and plaster to ceilings and floors. Our products shape modern interiors forthe commercial, residential and off-site sectors of the construction industry. As a Mechanical Craftsperson you will be working on a day shift basis. The role is predominantly a preventative schedule based maintenance and repair role working across a highspeed, high output production line.
**Duties include**:
- Working through CMMS maintenance schedules supporting equipment servicing and periodic maintenance.
- Support the Professional Maintenance Pillar & the Workshop 5S program
- Coach & assist operators with autonomous maintenance tasks and challenge operating standards
- Proactively support the safety function by participating in safety audits.
**What skills and experience are we looking for?**
- The applicant will ideally have served a recognised mechanical apprenticeship or demonstrate a minimum of NVQ3 Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering with relevant industrial experience.
- Experience of Professional Maintenance
- Computer literacy
- A flexible and willing approach to working hours and deployment is essential
- Experience in using permit to work systems and other safe systems of work.
- Experience of working to WCM (World Class Manufacturing) or other continuous improvement activities required
- Experience of using a CMMS system and contributing to writing maintenance planning.
