Experience is essential of undertaking a wide range of administrative duties to include managing requisitions and utilising systems to raise orders, including record keeping and answering routine queries, ensuring customer requirements are achieved within financial constraints. In addition, being responsible for taking delivery and despatch of incoming/outgoing mail, stationery, general orders and reception cover.

A confident communicator, with an aptitude to deal with various levels of internal and external customers, proven time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.

This role will be based near junction 12 of the M4.

This role will on an adhoc basis be required to travel to various locations across the South East Region for business purposes. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational requirements. For this reason a full UK Driving License is essential for the role.

For police staff secondments

**Required knowledge/skills**
**Essential**

1. Good standard of education, excellent literacy and numeracy skills, with good communication and technical skills at all levels (e.g. NVQ Level 1 in Administration/Customer Services, equivalent or proven experience in a similar environment).

2. Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. This skill will have been developed in a demanding office environment where they will have regularly demonstrated discretion, tact and diplomacy, multi-tasking, enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility.

3. Proven ability to work to deadlines, handle diverse information, manage a substantial workload and solve problems with a minimum of supervision.

4. IT literate with experience in MS Applications; proven ability to manipulate data from a variety of sources and databases and willing to learn new technology, databases and systems.

5. Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner.

**Desirable**

6. Experience of recording minutes in high level meetings with an ability to understand the context of meetings.

7. Knowledge and understanding of relevant policing policies and procedures advantageous.
