Amended Access Planning Assistant

We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable train service, by investing in our fleet of trains, stations and employees. As part of this investment we are looking to recruit a **Amended Access Planning Assistant** to work on a** full-time, permanent**basis based in **Birmingham.**
You will be responsible for the detailed preparation of weekly revised train plans including rail replacement services and provisional rolling stock plans in accordance with the Industry Informed Traveller process and timescales.
**What does the job involve?**
- Produce amended timetables (that conform to the Engineering Access Statement/Timetable Planning Rules) that take into account engineering work, special events and other Short-Term planning requirements in accordance with laid down industry timescales.
- Check CPPP Document against agreed Section 7 items in the company engineering register for the weeks which are bid.
- To check offers received from Network Rail and to produce EDIs to bid for change, ensure that information is uploaded correctly in downstream systems - responsible or amended Data Management.
- To produce amended timetables from a commercial specification to produce the optimum service plan.
- To produce draft stock diagrams in support of amended timetables that balance across the locations, day/week to agreed STP Timescales - to be submitted with the bid.
- To produce Rail Replacement plans where required and ensure these are submitted to Network Rail as part of the process for each week.
- To assist in the production of Weekly Engineering Circular to the agreed timescales and format to Network Rail.
- Check TSDB or equivalent that train amendments are uploaded as per WMT’s specification.
- Monitor log for performance issues directly related to planning and feedback to concerned parties, taking action where appropriate
**What skills and experience do I need to do the job?**
- Educated to a further level of education e.g. A Level or equivalent level of experience.
- A good knowledge or West Midlands Trains geography, the services which WMT run and the Rolling Stock operated by WMT.
- A good team player with the ability to work flexibly, to strict timescales and under a high degree of pressure.
- Willingness to travel from time to time in order to maintain excellent working relationships with the rest of the business and to see on the ground the execution of amended plans at delivery in order to improve on future plans.
