**Responsibilities**
As a delivery agent you will be allocated a run of work on a daily basis, your responsibilities will be to:
- Plan your work
Ensure you work out how you are going to complete your days jobs, you will need to plan your journeys from collection point to delivery point, how to make your way to your next job using public transport.
(Full training will be given on how to plan using various apps to work out public transport routes, etc)
- Communication
You will need to ensure you call customers you are collecting vehicles from, or delivering to, confirming what time you will arriving to avoid a wasted trip, making sure you update them should you experience any delays. Some jobs may also require you to call a buyer who has purchased a vehicle and confirm the cosmetic condition before you take the vehicle.
You will also need to ensure you communicate with the Motor Trade Logistics office should you experience any issues.
- Appraising a vehicle
You will need appraise the internal and external cosmetic condition of the vehicle you are collecting. You DO NOT need any prior motor trade experience, all appraisals are done electronically using an app which is downloaded onto your mobile, it will guide you around the vehicle and allow you to note down defects such as scratches, dents, rips, stains, etc.
- Driving
You will need to drive various vehicles, including some small commercial vehicles such as vans, making sure they arrive to our customers without any damage.
- Admin
The only administration that is required is to ensure you record any of your expenses incurred on each job. This is all done electronically on the mobile app.
**Key Skills**
Don’t panic if you do not have any previous Motor Trade/driving qualifications/experience. To make a successful Delivery Agent the skills required are:
- Attention to Detail
By no means do you need to be an expert or mechanic to be a delivery agent. We do provide training however, all that is required is to appraise a vehicle thoroughly, which in essence is looking around the whole vehicle inside and out for ANY cosmetic damage the eye can see.
- Good Communication
It may sound fairly simple however, good communication skills are vital as a delivery agent. Part of the role will require you to contact dealerships/vehicle preparation centres to ensure vehicles are ready for collection prior to you going to pick them up. You will also be required to communicate with customers you are delivering to, confirming ETA’s.
- Being Organised
To be a successful delivery agent, having the ability to be organised is a great advantage. You will be allocated vehicles to collect and deliver over 2-3-day period so you will need to plan your days to ensure you can complete all the jobs.
This may sound daunting but all it involves is working out your timings for travel e.g., Driving/Public Transport (Train/Bus) and making arrangements to collect/deliver around these.
(There are many apps available that help with planning for Public Transport)
- Driving Safely
As a delivery agent you will be entrusted to drive a variety of different vehicles including high end vehicles fitted with tracking devices to monitor whereabouts and speeds. You will need to be a safe conscious driver who stays within the confines of driving laws/speeds. Delivery agents will be driving vehicles that belong to customers and dealerships, you will be expected to drive with utmost due car and attention in order for the vehicle to arrive at its destination without any issues.
As well as the basic skills mentioned above you **MUST** meet the following criteria for insurance purposes:
- **Off Street Parking**: Vehicles will need to kept at your address overnight, for insurance purposes ALL vehicles will need to be stored off street, e.g., driveway, private car park
- **Driving Endorsements**: Again, for insurance purposes you cannot have more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence
- **Smart Phone/Mobile Data**: You will need a smart phone and mobile data to be able to process your collections and deliveries
**Salary**: £350.00-£500.00 per week
**Benefits**:
- Company events
- Work from home
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
**Experience**:
- Driving: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
