**Vehicle Damage Assessor - (Motor Engineer)**
**Salary** - £30,000 - £35,000 _(depending on experience)_
**Location** - Haywards Heath, Whitstable, or Chesterfield
**Hours**:

- Mon-Fri - 8:30am-5:00pm - 40 hours p/w
**Hybrid -** 2 days office based, 3 days remote _(once trained) _
**Overview**
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator from either a Bodyshop or Accident repair background, to join a leading automotive Insurance Group.
We would like to talk to you if you are looking for a new challenge and have either a motor trade, estimator, or vehicle engineering background.
**We also provide training toward accredited qualifications working together with Thatcham and the IAEA to progress your career.**
**What be you'll doing?**
- To inspect damaged vehicles and assess the full extent of the damage sustained, assess the cost of repair and time scales
- To identify the correct prescribed repair method
- To prepare computerised and manual estimates and to accurately record these, maintaining up-to-date records of all estimates
- Day to day processing of Audatex and task-based work
- Collaboration with other engineering, totals loss and claims teams.
- Maintain individual knowledge in specialist areas of vehicle technology and construction in line with the group wide requirement of continuous personal development.
- Liaise with external suppliers & internal departments to resolve customer complaints
- Identify and report any fraud or indemnity risk.

**What you'll need to be successful in the role?**
- Good working knowledge of Audatex estimating system.
- Experience as a VDA / Vehicle Estimator
- Excellent understanding of motor vehicle body construction and mechanical, electrical and safety systems
- Ability to self-manage workloads on a day-to-day basis working in line with targets and objectives and SLA's
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Positive and self-confident approach when dealing with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
- ATA VDA, AQP or working towards accreditation. IAEA full membership an advantage.
