**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title**

Civils Operations Foreman - Pluckley

The role of Civils Operations Foreman is key to the company’s future development and enhancing the capacities in delivering a continuous flow of civils projects.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- You will be responsible for the organisation and processing of projects in the Civils realm of FGS Pilcher, providing line management for your staff. You will be responsible for daily planning jobs for your staff, providing briefings and timely work instructions.
- You must gain a clear understanding of the Client’s requirements to ensure you are structuring the project to their wishes whilst ensuring the work is in line with the priced proposal/contract terms. You will also ensure adherence to correct timescales such that penalties are not incurred, balancing resources and material delivery to achieve the satisfying outcome.
- Plan and manage work schedules and procuring the necessary equipment and materials in an economical and timely manner through the Buyer and yourself, prioritising work efficiently, using delegation skills to meet deadlines.
- Ensure all paperwork and records of operations are completed with as much relevant detail as possible to enable the correct information is collated for timely invoicing and reporting.
- To be able to confidently read and interpret site plans, drawings and identify any variances. Site setting out /surveying skills.
- Ensure effective communication, discipline and interpersonal skills are used to establish good working relationships with your staff.
- You should respond positively to instructions and suggestions whilst having a desire to continuously improve the business. You should be able to carry out your work without close supervision, meet targets and take ownership and responsibility for own work.
- Physically be able to carry out all manual handling tasks as required.
- Demonstrate and build upon appropriate knowledge and skills; maintain qualifications in order to comply with regulations surrounding the equipment and operations of the business.
- To bring in new initiatives and efficiencies to enable cost savings and increase profit margins. You will contribute positively to your team and other business sectors within the Company and establish good working relationships with your colleagues.
- It would be advantageous to be able to operate plant safely and efficiently to provide a leadership function to your staff, identifying the correct use, maintenance of our plant to an appropriate standard, including daily checks, basic maintenance and cleanliness.
- Demonstrate and build upon appropriate knowledge and skills; maintain qualifications in order to comply with regulations surrounding the equipment and operations within the business.

Note: This job description is not exhaustive. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their Manager from time to time to meet the ongoing needs of the business.

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
