**The Ice Cream Van On The Hoe** is part of an ‘Award winning’ family run business who specialise in providing the best locally made ice cream at weddings, events and at some of the most popular tourist locations in Devon and Cornwall. This is a great opportunity to work within a growing, successful and popular local business.

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding individual with exceptional customer service skills in a part time and seasonal capacity, to help *drive and operate our 'Mister Softee' ice cream van, set in an idyllic location on the Plymouth Hoe waterfront.

Here is your opportunity to become an ice cream man/woman and learn the craft of perfect ice cream sales, whilst becoming a part of a highly valued and popular British tradition

To join our successful team you do not need any formal qualifications, but you must be trustworthy and reliable. You will need to love working with the public, be able to work under pressure, handle payments and you must be very well organised.

You may be required to collect a fully stocked ice cream van from our Plympton HQ, and drive to our Plymouth City Council approved trading location along the incredible Plymouth Hoe Waterfront where you will be greeted with a full 180 degree panoramic view of Plymouth Sound and beyond.

From here you will set up and serve our customers with care and efficiency, whilst providing the best possible service. This position would require a flexible approach to working up to 20 hours per week, across two or three days. One day of work each week will always be a weekend day and shifts would include weekdays, weekends and bank holidays as required.

An example shift would be from 11:30pm - 6pm during holidays and weekends, overtime (with prior agreement from you) will be offered to trade longer during the summer season.

- Be enthusiastic, pro active, calm under pressure and capable of working on there own and within a team.
- Have exceptionally high standards of their own personal hygiene and professional conduct.
- Have an eagerness to learn the craft of perfect ice cream sales.
- Have experience in providing excellent customer service -ideally in the catering/hospitality industry.
- Have experience in dealing with cash and card transactions confidently.
- Be a confident driver, hold a full clean driving license, as the position may involve driving an ice cream van.
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in food safety, although training can be provided for suitable applicants if required.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Serving customers with a smile, whilst showing efficiency and confidence.
- Cleaning as required.
- Helping stock the van when required.
- Most importantly, enjoying the job

**Applicants must have**:

- Who will drive must have at least 8 years of driving experience (an insurance requirement)
- No criminal record.
- A full and clean UK drivers license.
- Confidence behind the wheel of a van and enjoy driving
- Experience in providing excellent customer service - ideally in the catering/hospitality industry.
- Enthusiasm and be pro active, calm under pressure and capable of working on their own and within a team.
- Exceptionally high standards of their own personal hygiene and professional conduct.
- Experience in dealing with cash and card transactions confidently.
- The commitment in working 2 or 3 days a week.
- Flexibility to work between 11:30am-8.30pm during high season weekend shifts when required.
