The Company:
National rolling stock maintenance and engineering company based in Derby. Maintains Network Rail's Infrastructure Monitoring Fleet, which performs a vital role in keeping Britain's railways moving and many other important rail related contracts for passengerand freight train operators.
The job:
We are currently recruiting for a Buyer for a permanent position based in Burton-on-Trent. You will be part of a team, purchasing for railway locomotives and related products for the mainline, industrial, mining and tunnelling industries.
*Reporting directly to the Head of Purchasing.
*Remit 50/50 - Tactical/Strategic. *
*Responsible for buying high value raw materials, components and goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
*Working closely alongside the production team to ensure that products are designed and manufactured correctly.
*Leading on end-to-end bid/tender management processes.
- Developing lasting relationships with suppliers.
- Continuously looking for new ways to source raw materials.
*Compile data which pertains to supplier performance.
*Monitor market trends and competitor strategies.
Key Skills & Experience:

- Has 3/4+ years' experience within Buying/Purchasing or Direct Procurement.
*Worked within Manufacturing.
*CIPS level 4, preferable but not essential.
*Excellent communication skills.
- Willing, can-do attitude.
*Creative mind and a passion for product development.
