**Do you want to join a growing operation for one of the UK's largest fresh food products manufacturers, that can offer great training & progression opportunities.**

**They are looking for an experienced Engineering Shift Leader to hands-on lead a small team of shift multi-skilled engineers.**

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Looking after a team of X4 shift engineers on shift, whilst being hands-on day-to-day
- Working on 7 different high-speed food production & packaging lines
- Manage a team of engineers, helping maintain & improve performance of all machinery & equipment to obtain the best possible efficiencies
- Working on such equipment as, conveyors, slicers, various automated packaging machinery, robotics, site services, palletisers & PLC's
- Plan & prioritise shift workload for the engineering team
- Execute planned preventative maintenance schedules to maximize machinery up time
- Ensure the engineering team produces & documents reports accurately
- Promote a high performing culture where team members are supported to grow and develop
- Ensure that the permit to work is in place and adhered to by contactors, high food safety requirements are adhered to and promote GMP

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Have previously worked in a hands-on team leader or supervisor role
- Must be a multi-skilled engineer and have served an accredited apprenticeship
- Educated to a HNC Level in Engineering
- PLC - electrical fault-finding skills
- Ideally have worked in a food, FMCG & packaging manufacturing environment
- Experience of lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvements & project engineering
- Be a strong communicator, able to lead a team on shift to work efficiently, effectively & safely
- Computer literate with SAP and CMMS systems
- Previously have managed contractors on site with right to work permits & safety SOP's
- Must have excellent understanding of engineering systems, stores & PPM documentation
- Any experience of lean manufacturing & continuous improvement techniques a bonus
