**Job description**

We are looking for a Registered Paediatric, Learning Disability or an Adult Nurse to join our nursing team, on either a full time or part time basis to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months on a fixed term contract.

Working as part of a collaborative Multi-Disciplinary Team in our brand new and bespoke facility, this role makes a meaningful difference to our young people through providing a holistic approach to care and wellbeing.

**About Prior's Court**

Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 90 young people withautism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior's Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.

Since opening, our support team has grown from around 20 to 500 and we have built a reputation as a leading edge educational, vocational, and residential facility for young people with autism. We are situated on 50 acres of parkland with various facilitiesincluding accommodation for our young people, a school with a wide range of facilities and offices.

**Responsibilities include**:

- In conjunction with the Operational Leadership team and Lead Nurse, take responsibility for the acute and long term medical care of the children and young adults. This will include assessing and planning nursing care requirements, including physical observations.
- Assess young people’s health and where required, identify a need for treatment liaising with the relevant professionals.
- Prepare for and attend individual consultations with required specialists including Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, Neurologists, Epilepsy Specialist Nurses, GP’s and Dieticians.
- Create and distribute individual medical protocols and care plans in conjunction with specialists to support complex medical needs of the children and young people, reviewing and revaluating these as conditions change.
- Deliver theory and practical training to support staff on the medical requirements of the young people.
- Provide reports for statutory review meetings.
