Travel Care Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Travel Care Coordinator to join our Travel Care Team whose role is to coordinate the transport requirements (taxi provision) of eligible children, young people and adults through procured and commissioned service provision. We aim to ensure a high quality, cost effective service delivery that safeguards those passengers.
A bit about Gateshead Council
We are responsible for the safe transportation of children, young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to schools, colleges and day provision. Our team also offer Independent Travel Training as part of our offer. We transport children with medical needs and coordinate training to drivers and passenger assistants. We are committed to providing our Gateshead residents with the highest quality service and we need people who have the right knowledge, skills and experience and who want the chance to demonstrate how good they are.
About the role
You must have English and maths GCSE at a minimum Grade 4 or C or equivalent, as well as knowledge of Special Educational Needs and how this relates to our travel service. You must be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, and be able to dela with difficult situations if they arise.
