**About the role**

The post holder will provide a dedicated AMHP response during daytime working hours Monday to Friday 9.00am 17-00pm. The role will be supported by a backup rota and contingency rota from other AMHPs from across Adult service in the borough. The AMHP service is embedded in the community mental health team based at Humphrey House.

The main purpose of the AMHP post is to provide an effective AMHP service to meet the needs of Bury residents who might also be residing in a wider geographic area in keeping with Bury council’s statutory AMHP responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983.

The AMHP role will ensure wherever possible that referrals to the service are managed within the resources provided in the scope of the AMHP rota. This may require the post holder to complete multiple assessments to meet the service demand and occasionally there may be the necessity to work outside of the allocated working day. Bury local authority have a robust Time off in Lieu (TOIL) in place to support a work-life-balance.

To maintain and improve professional standards of your practice and across the wider AMHP service through personal development and specialist AMHP related training including regular supervision.

To promote and incorporate principles and values set out in the mental health act and the mental health act code of practice and other relevant legislation.

To participate in undertaking all duties associated with the role of an AMHP.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
