We are seeking a dynamic and experienced commissioner to head up West Berkshire's new Children's Commissioning Service. This is an exciting time to join the Council and you will play a pivotal role in shaping and developing the new service. You will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in West Berkshire, improving outcomes and delivering meaningful change.
**The Role**
As Service Lead: Commissioning, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the commissioning of care, education and SEND services, including the management of contracts and provider relationships.
- Ensuring effective needs assessment and market analysis to drive commissioning decisions.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Monitoring and reporting on performance, quality, and financial aspects of commissioned services.
- Contributing to the overall strategic leadership and direction of the Service.
- Significant experience in commissioning within an education or children’s services context.
- Proven ability to lead and manage commissioning teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence a range of individuals.
- Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
