Are you looking to take your first steps into a skilled trade? Do you have a can-do attitude and a genuine interest in property maintenance, painting, and decorating? If so, this is your opportunity to join our Property Maintenance Team as a Trainee Maintenance Operative.

This trainee role is designed to support and develop individuals who are keen to build a long-term career in maintenance and decorating. You'll receive hands-on training, mentoring, and access to learning opportunities — all while working in beautiful retirement villages that make a real difference to residents' lives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the team with painting, decorating, and basic maintenance across both internal and external village spaces
- Preparing surfaces, setting up work areas, and learning safe practices
- Assisting with general upkeep and ensuring work areas are tidy and well-organised
- Working under supervision to gain confidence using painting and decorating tools
- Learning to plan your tasks efficiently and complete them to a high standard
- Helping to maintain health & safety best practices
- Engaging with residents and staff in a professional, respectful manner
- Completing on-the-job training and any assigned work related to your role
- A genuine interest in learning a skilled trade
- Completed a maintenance related course
- A practical mindset and willingness to work with your hands
- A positive, proactive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility
- Good communication skills and a team player
- Basic experience in DIY, painting, or maintenance (desirable but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
- You must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
