This is an exclusive opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business based in Trafford Park as an accounts assistant. This is a newly created role working closely with the Finance Manager, as the accounts assistant, you'll undertake a varied role across the transactional accounts, with opportunity over time to study supported by the business and to become involved in the month end process.

**Your main roles and responsibilities**:
The role is a varied position which will initially have a key focus on the purchase ledger and accounts payable process.
- Management of the company purchase ledger, processing invoices, matching GRN codes and ensuring timely payments
- Query resolution - escalating to the finance manager if needed
- Processing company expenses
- Sales ledger maintenance and assisting in company credit control
- Bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations
- Over time, there is the opportunity to develop systems improvements and to be involved in the month end procedures, working closely with the finance manager
- Ad hoc office and administration duties as required
- A good knowledge of transactional accounting - particularly purchase ledger / accounts payable
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Studying the AAT qualification / a demonstrable commitment to your career in finance
- A friendly personality who works well independently and within a wider team
- Ability to work at pace with accuracy
