The post-holder will:

- Act as first point of contact for all patients and/or visitors to the practice, ensuring a courteous and professional reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice.
- Support colleagues in providing an effective and efficient practice administration function, with particular regard to coding, GP links, incoming and out-going post, prescription administration, records management, scanning, coding, and other relevant administrative tasks.
- Support the clinical team in the management of key administrative tasks, e.g. patient summaries.

**Vocational Qualifications**

Essential: Good comprehension of English language both written & spoken.

Comprehensive knowledge of computers and I.T.

Thorough knowledge of MS Office based computer programmes (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Desirable: Knowledge of EMIS web clinical software.

Qualifications / certificates in customer service

**Experience**

Essential: Dealing with general public in a reception situation

Desirable: Previous work within GP practice, Experience of using Emis-Web

**Knowledge/ Skills**

Essential: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to deal effectively and efficiently with the full range of the general public.

Show initiative and innovation.

Strong organisational skills.

Excellent computer and keyboard Skills

Ability to work under pressure

Essential: Ability to work between 07:45 and 18:15 Monday to Friday with Saturday morning on a rota.
