**Job Overview**
- Mitie Total Security Management are recruiting for Core & Relief Emergency Response Officers for a blue-chip client based in Barnoldwick. This is a dual role of both fire and rescue and Security Officers duties across the customers portfolio in Barnoldswick.
- Successful applicants will be part of a team consisting of the ERT Team Leader, three ERO's and two Security Officers working 12 hours shifts, typically working 42 hours per week.
- You MUST be able to work day and night shifts on a 2 day 2 nights 4 off shift pattern. Your shift pattern will include working weekends and bank holidays.
- Pay rate £12.22 per hour (overtime is available)
- 20.4 days annual leave entitlement.
- To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions and any subsequent changes.
- Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

**Main Duties**

Operations
- Responding as an ERT team with the fire engine appliance to any emergencies such as an uncontrolled fire or release of potentially harmful substances to protect lives, property and the environment. Also, as required responding and investigating any Security related incidents across the clients portfolio in Barnoldswick.
- Provide medical care to person(s) until the emergency services arrival on the scene.
- Maintain all emergency equipment in a state of readiness, including cleanliness, repairing and testing as required to the approved standards and procedures. To undertake safety checks on emergency equipment provided for ERT use.
- Conduct both internal and external Security patrols (such as fence line checks) for signs of intrusion, vandalism and theft.
- Take part in continuous training and learning programmes by attending lectures, exercises, simulated incidents, practice drill sessions, and any other training associated with the role.
- To be a point of contact for visitors, employees and contractors visiting the site. This will take the format of front of house security related meet & greet at main entrance Security office.
- To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Site Security Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
- Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.
- To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision) which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

Training
- Fully and satisfactory complete all required competency training on site, and our on-line training portal.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Site Security Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- You are required to ensure you renew your SIA licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Full ERT and Security training will be provided as required and captured on your personal training matrix.
- If you have the appropriate qualification on your UK drivers licence, driver training will be provided on the Fire Engine appliance on site.

Security and Health & Safety
- Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
