With a salary of £18,000-£25,000(DOE) plus sleepover allowances, based on a 40 hour working week. The service supports young people ages 8-18 years old with emotional and social difficulties to continue their education. Your skills as a prison officer are easily transferable into the role of a child support worker. You will find similar themes of boundaries, respect, rehabilitation are all present. Use your emotional intelligence and de-escalation skills to establish and maintain connections with young people. Support the development of vulnerable young people, whilst developing your own career

A successful child support worker will be responsible for:

- Working effectively as part of a team of child support workers
- Providing 24 hours care to a vulnerable young people
- Ensuring professional boundaries are in place
- Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people
- Have flexibility in the roles undertaken
- Have strong communication skills
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
- Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable
