**Right There has launched a new programme, For People, in Orkney. The programme will provide community-based, person-centred support, both on a 1-1 and group basis, for people experiencing a range of challenges impacting on their mental and emotional wellbeing.**

We are recruiting for a Wellbeing Worker to join the team, by adopting a strengths-based and holistic approach, and by providing relevant information, support and advice or facilitating group activities, people will be supported to improve their mental wellbeing, strengthen family relationships, identify and access other support resources, in addition to opening up new opportunities for employment, skills development and volunteering, whilst also establishing connections with our counselling service and developing a sustainable support network within their local community.

You will manage your own time and your diary to reflect the needs of the people that you are supporting. Working 35 hours per week, these hours are mainly worked Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work occasional hours on a Saturday if required. Good opportunity to arrange your time around other commitments.

Duties of the position will include:

- Developing positive, respectful and compassionate relationships with the people we support, showing unconditional positive regard, focusing on their strengths and aspirations as individuals.
- Having a high standard of professional integrity with colleagues and other professionals.
- Establishing clear professional boundaries with the people we support.
- Carrying out support planning to ensure that all wellbeing support is person-centred and strengths-based to identify goals and aspirations supported with a realistic timeline and inbuilt regular reviews.
- Helping improve access to additional support by helping people find and attend resources relevant to their individual needs. This may include harm reduction, detox treatment, family support or guidance to create their own recovery plan.
- Working to rebuild and sustain family relationships by providing family members with guidance around their rights, connecting them to our counselling services and other resources within the community.
- Identifying talents, passions and interests and working from them to broker opportunities for employment, skills development, recreation, and volunteering.

Salary SCP 19-22 (£21,427-£23,194 per annum)

**What you can expect from us**

We value our staff as our greatest asset and will provide the following working conditions:

- The post holder will report to the Programme Manager.
- Your normal working hours are 35 per week.
- Your usual place of work will be Dunkirk, Shore Street, Kirkwall, Orkney, KW15 1LG.
- You are also required to work in the local community, and you will be paid travel expenses between your usual place of work and appointments undertaken in the course of your duties.
- Alternatively, you may also choose to work remotely from your home address Working arrangements must be agreed with your line manager, based on the needs of the service.
- You may be required to work from such other place as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.
- Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays
- You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension following successful completion of your probationary period, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
