**Position -**Oracle DBA Contractor

**Location** - Camberley

Duration - 6 months

**Overview of Role**

The team are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to work within the EMEA Oracle DBA team to support critical databases. The EMEA Oracle Team supports over 700+ instances featuring Oracle 11g/12c/19c databases with RAC, ASM, Exadata, Dataguard RMAN, OracleGoldenGate, OEM, Oracle OID running on Exadata and Linux.

**What will I be doing? (Responsibilities)**

In the role you will support and maintain large Oracle databases covering the EMEA region:

- Oracle 11g/12c/19c databases on ASM/RAC on Linux/Exadata
- Oracle Goldengate
- Oracle Exadata
- Oracle DataGuard, RMAN, OEM 13c

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide database design support to development teams.
- Proactively work on the efficiency and capacity planning and documentation
- Have shared responsibility for backup, recovery and monitoring.
- Ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines
- Deal with serious and critical production Oracle database issues in a timely manner.
- Deal with change requests and end-user queries for the systems that you will be the primary DBA for.
- Part of On-call rota for out of business hours operational support.

- Oracle Database Administration (Oracle 11g/12c/19c) on Linux/Exadata
- SQL / PLSQL coding
- Performance tuning
- RAC Clustering
- Database Replication using Oracle Goldengate
- Oracle Data Guard
- Strong communication skills

**Nice to have**
- Knowledge of ITIL procedures and best practices
- Experience of working within a regulated/corporate environment, preferably in financial services
