Magnet Coil Winder (Abingdon, UK)

**Magnet Coil Winder**

Abingdon, Oxford

MR Solutions is looking to recruit a motivated Magnet Coil Winder to join the team.

**_ Main Duties:_**
- Winding coils for Superconductor Magnets to specifications defined by engineering.
- Knowledge of the Manufacture of Gradient Coils would be desirable.
- Following Engineering Drawings and detailed work instructions.
- Prepping coil formers for winding including leak checking using a helium leak detector.
- Coil preparation and coil winding to precise standards, to meet the correct turns per layer.
- Performing and recording electrical checks.
- To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the
- Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Quality Procedures.

**_Skills/Qualifications_**
- ONC or BTECH qualification preferred but not essential.
- Experienced with winding coils for Superconductor Magnets.
- Experience in the use of round and WIC superconducting wire.
- Knowledge of working and handling high value superconducting wire.
- Familiar with operating manual winding machines.
- Advantageous to have further experience with resin impregnation, magnet assembly.
