Kidderminster, United Kingdom Bromsgrove District Council Full time

Job Introduction
**Technical/Senior Officer**

**Career Grade, Grade 5 to Grade 7**

**£27,334 - £38,223 per annum**

**About us**

Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) is the Shared Environmental Health and Licensing Service for all six Worcestershire District Councils, hosted by Bromsgrove District Council. WRS is based at Wyre Forest District Council offices in Kidderminster, but we operate across the county and for some service areas wider afield. As part of Bromsgrove District Council, we are committed to being a customer driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do; focused on improving on delivery services that make a difference to the community that we serve.

Worcestershire is a great place to live and work, offering attractive rural villages, market towns and a vibrant University city with enviable regional transport links. Our challenge is to support all of our businesses to achieve high standards of regulatory compliance and protect and improve the health of our growing population while managing the expectations and demands of both.

**The role**

Would you like to broaden your experience within an intelligence led Environmental Health service nationally recognised for its excellence and innovative work? Do you have an enquiring mind with a customer focused attitude? If so, read on

We are looking for three, permanent, full-time Technical/Senior Technical Officers to join our busy, forward-thinking Community Environmental Health team.

Two posts will be providing food safety interventions and enforcement work as we continue to implement our food safety recovery programme.

The third position will be working in our nuisance and pollution control team carrying out investigations into statutory nuisance, events, pests, private water supplies and drainage.

The opportunity exists to work across these areas, which indeed is actively encouraged.

You will need to have enthusiasm, a commitment to accuracy and good customer service. You must have ability to work independently and have the confidence in using your own judgement and initiative whilst also working effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

You will be expected to work remotely, onsite (across Worcestershire) and from our modern Offices at Wyre Forest House, Kidderminster, DY11 7WF.

**Key requirements**

This post is career graded across grades 5, 6 and 7 in order that the service may recruit people with limited experience in the field and develop them. Initial appointment will be based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant matching the different levels within the post.

Progression from grade 5 to grade 6 will be based on the post holder obtaining demonstrable competence in at least one area of operational activity (Food Safety or Statutory Nuisance) and having significant experience in operational matters.
