Would you like a role supporting the mental health of young people?

**_Supporting young children aged 5 to 11 with trauma, mental health and behavioural challenges as well as Looked After Children_**

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for the successful mental health assistant to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. In this role you will build frontline, practical experience with young people with significant needs andlearn to understand how to communicate and support them, through the help of trained professionals and experienced team members. Plus you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs such as Autism and ADHD. This is a great opportunity for anaspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapist, counsellor, teacher or even criminal justice officer

The SEMH School is looking for a Mental Health Assistant/Teaching Assistant who can bring enthusiasm, passion and experience to the classroom. They are looking for a SEN TA who will be proactive and adaptable and be able to use their own initiative. Resilienceand confidence to work with challenging behaviour is desirable

- Full-time Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm
- Ideal for Psychology/Counselling Graduates
- Experience is not essential but desired

The children in this school require a teaching assistant who understands their complex needs and is open-minded and up for a challenge. The children have varying needs although emotional and mental health needs is their main provision. Suitable experiencecan include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, even on a personal level such as with family. Level 3 qualifications+ are also required and a Degree would be most desirable.
