The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for managing health & safety procedure across the business, coaching and improving health & safety on site.

My client are a growing transport business, with over 100 vehicles nationally and multiple depots.

**Description**

The key responsibilities for the role of Health and Safety Manager in Ellesmere Port will be:

- Lead and embed a Health & Safety culture in the business.
- Work with the operational management teams to drive and improve Health, Safety & Environment standards across the sites within area of responsibility.
- Identify health and safety training needs for departments, organising training and carrying out health and safety briefings for management and staff.
- Work with managers to write and develop risk assessments, Safe working procedures and processes and Standard Operating Procedures in line with needs of the Depot Operations.
- Educate the business on developments within legislation and innovation for safer working practices.
- In depth analysis of HSE performance and working with operations drive proactive actions to address areas of concern.
- Provide support and lead (where required) the investigation of incidents (including major incidents), providing advice on root causation, implementing the best preventative measures and sharing lessons learned.
- Liaison with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Advise, consult and audits of contractor management systems.
- Developing the skills and knowledge of staff, including the delivery of training.

**Profile**
- Experience in health & safety in a transport environment.
- A health & safety qualification (NEBOSH etc).
- A hands on approach.
- Great analytic skills.
- The ability to work autonomously.
