Faculty Employability Partner

The Faculty Employability Partners play a vital role in establishing strong relations between the faculties and the central careers and employability team, overseeing in-curricular delivery and advising academic colleagues on course and module design and development as well growing the Employability Community of Practice. The FEP team are critical to the emerging university strategy with the delivery of an employability framework and effective embedding of employability in the curriculum. We have openings for an Employability Partner in each of the following three faculties: Science, Engineering & Computing; Health, Social Care & Education; and Business & Social Science.
**The Person**:
You will be adept at building strong working relationships and using your influencing and persuasion skills to catalyse positive change. With expertise in embedding careers and employability learning in curriculum and the ability to provide practical support to academic teams, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of the new University strategy and to develop your own career as part of a collaborative, values driven and high performing team. The ability to lead, motivate, coach and support a team to succeed together and an empathy with our students are essential.
- Experience of designing and delivering employability development activities within/alongside the curriculum.
- Knowledge of the different experiences and needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Advanced decision-making and organisational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage a busy workload that includes project-work alongside the business as usual.
- Ability to critically evaluate quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate and improve the effectiveness of activities.
- Capacity to identify own strengths and weaknesses and an enthusiasm to learn, develop and adapt.
- Ability to maintain motivation and thrive in a fast changing and demanding environment.
- Ability to identify improved ways of working to deliver an excellent customer service to all stakeholders.

The Directorate’s role is to provide guidance and support for learning, enhance the employability of our students, promote access, participation and inclusion, offer students the right development opportunities for them and support all student activities through collating and utilising survey data. Our activities are student-centred and developed in conjunction with staff and students. Together we provide expert advice, guidance and initiatives that supports course teams to improve teaching quality. Our careers and employability function helps students acquire professional experience and be ready to hit the ground running when starting their careers.
As a Directorate, we are service-oriented, honest and collaborative and use evidence-based approaches. We take a whole life cycle approach to student success to help improve student outcomes for students of all backgrounds
