There is an opportunity for a Medical Secretary to join a team of 15 Doctors, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant and helpful non-clinical support staff at our Claughton Branch.

We require a Secretary to join our friendly busy practice. Previous experience would be an advantage, as this is a busy demanding role. We operate across three sites, Claughton Medical Centre, Fender Way Health Centre and Townfield Medical Centre and you may be asked to work at either site.
- **Duties and Responsibilities**_
- **Secretarial Duties**_

1. Type letters, reports and other documents as required by the partners, Practice manager and other team members (i.e. GPs, Nurses, Physios, Health Coaches etc) - Including Audio Typing (Lexacom)

2. Liaise with hospital and community departments regarding patient care, appointments, etc, incorporating Choose and Book (ERS)

3. Ensure telephone enquiries are dealt with in a courteous and timely manner and take messages as appropriate

6. Maintain referrals database/spreadsheet

8. Knowledge of EMIS system

9. Maintain own workload of referrals and reporting issues to Practice Manager
- **Administration Duties**_

10. Action tasks as required

11. Send reminder letters for child hospital DNAs

13. Maintain forms/letters on EMIS computer system

14. Monitor worklist on ERS i.e., Advice & Guidance, Referrals etc.

15. Work towards providing holiday/sickness cover

16. Observe health and safety guidelines at all times

17. Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time

- **It is essential for the job role that you have the following**:_

Good standard of general education

GCSE Mathematics C or above

GCSE English C or above

Experience of MS Office, Web and E-mail

Excellent communication skills (Written and Oral)

IT skills (Knowledge of EMIS desirable)

Audio typing (Lexacom)

Have good time management and the ability to work to deadlines

Have problem solving skills

Have interpersonal skills

Able to multitask
- **It is desirable but not essential for you to have the following**:_

RSA III Word Processing/Information Technology

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)

AMSPAR Diploma

Experience of working within a medical environment

Experience of Choose and Book system/ERS

**Pay will be dependant on experience.**
