**The role**:
Our Fleet Controllers are actively committed to Zenith and its Customers by proactively managing the day-to-day provision of cost-effective vehicle maintenance, to ensure that vehicle breakdowns, defects and repairs are managed on a best cost/quality basis. To ensure that such incidents are expedited in the fastest manner possible and the vehicle is returned to service without undue delay.
- Ensure the recording of all defects, breakdowns, VOR and tracking information by updating SQL with relevant and accurate information to set deadlines
- Ensure the correct Supplier attends both breakdowns and defects with respect to faults covered by Warranty/R&M/Contract Maintenance etc. If/when recovery is required ensuring that the correct recovery agent is used
- Being mindful of each Customer’s service contract obligations/operating requirements and reacting appropriately within agreed guidelines, to each vehicle event, whilst ensuring all legal protocol, within your control, is adhered to
- Making sure all repairs are carried out and are executed in a timely and cost-effective manner with minimum disruption to the Customer and constant communication is made with both Supplier and Customer through to work completion
- To ensure that all costs are accurately checked, challenged and accrued on SQL, noting all savings made and where necessary source cost effective new and used parts to assist Suppliers and alleviate vehicle downtime
- In partnership with the operational teams, ensure the Customer’s fleet is being proactively managed, ensuring that suppliers are being challenged and the VOR is minimised
- Liaise with suppliers advising on various and often complex maintenance issues, managing and scrutinising subsequent diagnosis, repair time and costs
- To ensure excellent communication from outset to conclusion of each vehicle event (breakdowns, defects, general repairs etc); advising the Customer of each option available, estimate of costs and any corresponding vehicle downtime; and obtaining authority to complete repairs.
