ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Head of Rare Disease and has a strong relationship with all relevant internal stakeholders in country (e.g. RD Lead, commercial/sales management, medical function, GH&V, finance, legal, Quality, HR, Regulatory & CA) and particularly above country (e.g. Global Brand Team members, IDM commercial office, Global H+V etc.)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The UK Gene Therapy Lead will lead efforts in partnership with the RD BU Country Lead and GTx cross-functional team to develop and drive commercial strategies and launch plans for the GTx business platform to ensure the development of innovative, differentiated GTx products that meet unmet needs in Rare Diseases. This will be achieved through the below key accountabilities:
Build and Leverage Pfizer Rare Disease GTx Capabilities- Provide key expertise and resources to build local cross-functional GTx capabilities including the delivery of the UK Gtx “go to market” launch strategies- Lead GLocal 2.0 collaboration to finalise and implement cross-functional commercial organization to support optimal “go to market” strategies and tactics including field selling, contracting, pricing and reimbursement, patient access and support, and interactions with patient advocacy groups- Provide key expertise and resources to support local colleagues for shaping processes to ensure health systems are prepared to deliver the innovative GTx treatments to patients, in collaboration with Public Affairs, Medical Affairs and Access teams- Partner with Global Launch Teams to co-create, prioritize, simplify and deliver in-country asset level launch readiness, supporting RD BU Country Leads in delivering against Launch Readiness milestones per the Launch Excellence framework- Partner with the RD BU Country Lead to drive alignment and appropriate allocation of resources in collaboration with local cross-functional and global teams- Collaborate with the RD BU Country Lead and PHI to develop new payment and distribution models for GTx medicines to ensure access and affordability- Develop, collate and coordinate country level Operating Plan for GTx, LRF and resourcing requirements and robust financial forecasting to optimize performance- Participate on external GTx committees as required to advance policies, education, and environmental shaping to optimize patient access to GTx medicines in collaboration with in-country organization- Collaborate with Medical Affairs regarding activities to identify GTx infusion centers and determine requirements to shape those into GTx “centers of excellence” in support of our go to market strategies- Lead and manage activities for internal colleague GTx education and training- Conduct all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with company policies and SOPs, Pfizer Values and global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP) as well as on alocal level- Support key existing IDM Region and in-country level GTx business partnerships and strategic alliances with biotech companies, academic institutions, and various gene therapy focused industry groups such as Alliance for Regenerative Medicine Europe, ESGCT, BSGCT, etc.- Support IDM Region cross PBG-PGS-GPD-RU collaboration on key GTx external and internal ad hoc projects and lead relevant local in-country project execution as appropriate
Advance the Reputation of Pfizer in Rare Disease and GTx- In collaboration with our Global and local in-country Communications and Media Relations teams, lead and manage the development of external local in-country specific communications materials and messages that help to improve Pfizer’s GTx Leadership position and “GTx Partner of Choice” reputation- Together with IDM Region and local in-country Corporate Affairs teams execute external communications campaign highlighting our leadership and capabilities in GTx in alignment with local communication strategies- Develop strong leadership presence at IDM Region and local in-country external GTx conferences and meetings- Coordinate IDM Region and local in-country GTx conference attendance and presentations across Pfizer GTx colleagues and senior leaders
