Function of the PMO:
The Project Management Office (PMO) is a centralised function within our team that provides expertise, standards and support to managing programmes and projects. Its main responsibilities are to:
Provide enabling processes to continuously support management of programme and project work throughout the organisation, ensuring alignment to the business's strategic direction.
Provide expertise on project types, governance, processes, tools & templates
Maintain a repository of documents, processes and templates
Administer the PPM system
Support business planning and analysis of actual work completed
Provide information to our Board and Committees
Deliver training on new tools, processes, templates and governance changes as applicable
Project management and reporting activity to enabling fast and effective business decisions
The role:
This is a new role within the PMO function. We are currently seeking a confident individual with a blend of Data Analysis and Technology development experience, with specific competencies in Excel, BI and Sharepoint.
The role will be varied but duties may include:
Using data from Excel and BI and formatting into multiple reports as required
Develop new tools as required to help us manage our portfolio of Programmes more efficiently/Identify project health status etc
Develop our PMO department SharePoint site and libraries (including Teams sites and Channels)
Support config of PPM solution
Educate our team on how to use the technology/tools available,
Key Accountabilities:
The primary responsibility areas of the role are:
Creation and maintenance of a set of key reports as directed by the PMO Operations Manager
Analysis and translation of key data
Train and support staff in understanding the data
Other analysis activities as arising
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Previous data analysis and reporting experience in a fast-paced environment
Expert Excel knowledge and understanding of VBA coding and SQL Database
Expert in Power BI
Expert SharePoint developer, competent in designing and maintaining complex collaboration sites
Proficiency in extracting data from multiple sources/systems
Proficiency in Technology and Information Systems
Some experience of Project or Portfolio Management systems desirable
