We have looking for a Customer Support Apprentice to join the Intermodal team and support them with filling trains at the Port of Felixstowe.
You will be part of a friendly team and be responsible for administrative duties related to filling trains. This is a fantastic opportunity for you if you like to be busy and are looking to get your foot on the career ladder in a growing company.
The salary for this position is £14,000 per annum and you will be required to complete an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
Full training is provided with this position.
**Responsibilities**
You will:
- Be responsible for liaising with customers to ensure bookings are placed on the system, customers are issued with relevant reference numbers and receive confirmation of arrivals and departures
- Work closely with the Customer Support Manager and Delivery Manager to ensure freight trains are filled to maximum capacity
- Manage, organise and update data on various systems including but not limited to destin8, TOPS, Paris, COMA and SCORPIO
- Interrogate data on the live systems as well as the information on train lists to review bookings versus actual delivery
- Be required to identify any possible issues with containers and raise this to relevant parties so any issues can be resolved in a timely manner
- Plan the movement of containers from road haulage to third party depots
- Positively and proactively maintain relationships with our customer base of shipping lines, freight forwarders and hauliers.
**Skills**
- A strong attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure work is accurate and arranged in a timely fashion
- This is a fun and fast paced role so you must have the ability to prioritise and multi task whilst ensuring accuracy of the work you produce
- You will need both strong verbal and written communication skills as you will be dealing with requests from customers and suppliers on a daily basis
- You must be able to meet deadlines to ensure trains are filled
- Previous railway and systems experience is desirable however not essential as full training will be provided.
