We have an adaptable team so that we can be responsible for finding the right solution for our clients. We work with accuracy, confidence, and integrity to ensure that our expertise and conscientiousness runs through everything that we do. Currently, we are looking for a **Team Leader Export.** In this challenging role as Team Leader Export, you will lead the individual and collective performance of your Export team. You are responsible for ensuring the service levels that have been agreed upon with the customers in a timely and efficient manner. When needed you review, improve and implement work procedures. You manage and also work in daily operations, coach your team members and play a big role in the further improvements of our operations and service to our customers. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager. **Your tasks and responsibilities include**: - To lead the team by example and ensure all Company policies and processes are being adhered to - Responsible for issuing and dividing the daily tasks to the team - Effectively manage own time, workload, and resources - Mentoring and cross-training in conjunction with Export Management team - Reviewing work prior to it being processed to ensure the highest quality at all times - Assist with monthly reporting to management - Take over queries and issues to assist the team to achieve their targets - Maintaining rota for out-of-hours cover - Carrying out effective 1-2-1 meetings and appraisals with the team - Prepare, check and export documentation according to Customs regulations, laws, and/or procedures - Stay abreast of changes in import and/or export laws - Request or compile necessary export documentation, such as Customs invoices, Certificates of Origin, and cargo-control documents - Advise customers on export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements, or other Customs-related matters - Confer with officials in various agencies to facilitate clearance of goods through Customs - Update and maintain shipment tracking databases - Maintain relationships with shipping lines and freight forwarders to expedite clearing of cargo - Acting as broker in Customs negotiations to guide the freight efficiently through complex procedures - Dealing with special arrangements for transporting delicate cargoes, such as livestock, food and medical supplies - You have a solid background as a Customs specialist that likely includes; - Export Customs brokerage - Customs compliance - General freight forwarding role - Use and understanding of port-linked inventory systems - You have experience as a team leader and/or you have line management experience - You recognize yourself in the following description; - Team player - able to organize self and others - Strong communicator with coaching capabilities - Proactive and confident - Accurate and considered work - compliance is key - Creative thinker and problem solver - Flexible in approach and happy to work shifts, including evenings and weekends - Fluent in the English language, proficiency in other languages is very welcome.
