Senior Specialist

The Marketing Properties (MP) Senior Specialist is responsible for the collaborative development and execution of global business and marketing brand strategies and the coordination and oversight of the day-to-day overall work, including trademark and copyright clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and related domain name, trade dress and online/social media activities.

**What are we looking for?**

The Senior Specialist must be a sophisticated trademark paralegal and/or brand or marketing professional with (1) the ability to work collaboratively and autonomously with global, regional and local business units and marketing professionals, as well as the trademark practitioners within the MP team, to assist in the execution of global brand strategy; (2) a solid background in the understanding and management of a robust global trademark portfolio and the role clearance, prosecution and enforcement plays in supporting that portfolio; (3) experience with trademark and trade dress issues relating to product packaging and advertising; (4) familiarity with US and international trademark law; (5) experience with research and analysis of competitive intelligence; and (6) commercial savvy, common sense and the ability to interact with business professionals.

**What will be your key responsibilities?**
- Executes on global strategic brand development and growth of the assigned business segment by assisting with:

- Ensuring consistent use of our brands globally
- Implementing and sustaining brand strategy that promote consistent use of our brands and are aligned with business needs
- Works with supervisor to resolve critical brand challenges and define strategies to resolve those challenges either for designated brands and/or designated regions of the world.
- In collaboration with supervisor, serves as point of contact and liaison for certain brands and/or designated regions.
- Executing brand strategy to ensure commercially-focused global MP service to support brand and related litigation strategies. May also provide input into brand strategy and gather relevant information to create strategies.
- Assist in managing global clearance and filing programs. May provide input into global clearance and filing programs and gather relevant information to create these programs. Participates in marketing and/or brand community meetings as necessary, and liaises with others while developing solid relationships and credibility, including providing ongoing training
- Provides support, handling as requested, to ensure execution of legal tasks supporting the global brand strategy, such as trademark clearance, prosecution, trademark oppositions and cancellations, copyright registration, intra-company licensing support, domain name portfolio management, customs registrations and maintenance,
- Assists with adherence to billing guidelines and invoice review
- Assists in drafting, presenting and implementing MP guidelines, policies and presentations.
- Support Chain of Title, Trademark Assignments and other recordal projects; familiar with trademark ownership issues across the assigned Segment portfolio.
