The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Acorns Nurseries as a Level 5 Childcare Apprentice.

In Bristol, Acorns Nurseries consists of two branches:
**Henbury Hill House Acorns** - Majestic listed building providing a home from home environment with plenty of open space including a dedicated forest school site, exceptional safe and secure gardens, for children between 6 weeks and 5 years of age.
**Acorns Aviva** - Custom built workplace nursery with dedicated garden space, including a Forest School area, located in the Aviva building in Stoke Gifford, providing a home from home environment and high quality childcare for those employees at Aviva / Lakeside - for children between 6 weeks and 5 years of age.
**Your roles and responsibilities would include**:
- As the Nursery Assistant you will assume overall responsibility to promote high quality provision for children working as part of a team to ensure a safe, stimulating environment for each individual child fulfilling legal and statutory requirements.
- You will be acting as a Key Carer for a group of children providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care, implementing daily routines and liaising with parents and carers on a regular basis.
**Main Duties**:
- Ensure the nursery provides a high quality, safe and stimulating early years environment in which children are able to explore, play and learn through both planned activities and those of their own choosing.
- To meet the care and learning needs of individual children.
- Plan, prepare and implement age/stage appropriate activities which meet children’s individual developmental needs in line with the Early Years at Acorns and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including evaluation, assessment, and identification of next steps for learning in conjunction with other staff.
- Liaise with, provide support, and maintain a professional relationship with parents, carers and any other family members at all times.
- Work in partnership with parents ensuring that they are kept fully involved and informed about their child’s activities, achievements, and progress, and encourage parental involvement.
- Work with parents/carers of children with additional learning needs to ensure inclusivity by implementing our procedures, liaising with the SENCO and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team where needed.
**Requirements**:
- You must be able to obtain a clear DBS.
- Level 3 Childcare qualification
- Have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
**Hours**:
This position is 52 weeks per year, working hours will be a minimum of 30 - 40 hours per week with shifts between the nursery’s opening hours of 7.30am and 18.00pm at Henbury Hill House Acorns and 8.00am and 6.00pm in Acorns Aviva.
