**Job title**: Senior Support Worker

**This position is suitable for**:
Mature, caring and compassionate individuals with a sense of creativity.
He/she will support service users with their personal growth and development programs within our recovery service. Thus, enabling progression to more independent living and enhancing quality of life.
**Job summary**:
The individual should be able to work with and without supervision, as per competency level, to provide high quality support for service users to achieve independence. Support staff work as part of the team that is led by qualified members of staff from different specialist areas.
**Responsibilities**:
- assess and talk to patients about their problems and discuss the best way to plan and deliver their care
- build relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns
- support service users with their medication and observe for effects
- respond to distressed patients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of their discomfort
- help patients manage their emotions through de-escalation techniques
- organise social events aimed at developing patients' social skills
- work with patients' families and carers, to help to educate them and the patient about their mental health problems.
Full-time hours: 40 per week (scope for more hours)
Part time hours: 24 per week
**Salary**: From £12 per hour (dependent of applicants experience and skill level)

In October 2010, Cherrytrees Care made the decision to change its status to a 24/7 Supported Living for male adults with mental health difficulties to provide a recovery service that encourages service users to progress to a more independent life.
This high-quality and cost-effective recovery service has a team of qualified and experienced professionals including: Qualified Mental Health Nurses, Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist, Dramatherapist, Music Therapist, Personal Fitness Trainer, Senior Mental Health Support Workers and Support Workers proving 24/7 care and support to our service users.

**Salary**: £12.50-£16.00 per hour
