**Your new role**

To provide specialist support on the development and delivery of improvements and services to enable efficient, consistent delivery across the commercial and procurement function. Specific focus on enhancing systems, procedures, planning and capability to drive performance and deliver best in class outcomes.

It provides specialist input into developing the processes and reporting that generate effective management information and help the business improve efficiency and performance. It manages and maintains key system functions critical to the effective delivery of the Contract Control Framework, the commercial operating model for the business. It supports the creation and roll out of key commercial training, skills and capability projects which will support the upskilling of the commercial function.

**What you’ll be leading on
- To maintain key commercial systems, processes and activities ensuring that these are up to date and sufficiently managed to meet the requirements of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the interpretation of changes in public sector commercial policy and translate these into processes including the development of guidance notes and training to support effective implementation of the changes.
- To assist in the development of processes and toolkits to drive improvement and efficiencies across the commercial and procurement function, including helping maintain the Contract Control Framework operating model processes and the integrity of the systems we use to support it.
- Contribute to improvements in commercial and procurement knowledge and practice across National Highways sharing knowledge and skills with others to disseminate best practice and support increased commercial capability.
- To build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the Improvement Division at internal and external meetings and assist with the preparation of briefings for external agencies and senior level colleagues when required.
- Drive improvements in health & safety performance ensuring effective practice is promulgated to staff and partners and carry out any tasks identified to the post in the Organisational Health & Safety RACI charts.

**To be successful
- Ability to prioritise effectively to manage multiple deadlines
- Development of strong internal networks to facilitate data gathering, analysis and reporting
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerBI
- Good Knowledge of commercial related software packages and systems
- Experience of working in a commercial environment, supporting the embedment of improvements within the function
