£12.08 per hour

**Location**:
Lancashire

**Hours**:
Term time: Wednesday 5.30pm till 7.30pm

School holidays: Monday to Friday 9.45am till 3.45pm.

Please note: You will be required to work a minimum of 3 days during the holidays.

**General Purpose**:
To supervise the delivery of out of school activities for 10-18 year olds with additional needs and disabilities living in Lancashire alongside the Activity Coordinator.

This post may involve weekend work.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- To supervise a group of children plus support staff and volunteers.
- To assist in matching children to support staff at the start of each session.
- To supervise the running of sessions, including administering medication, carrying out personal care duties and moving and handling.
- To assist sessional staff in providing supervision, assistance and support to children and young people with a wide range of disabilities and support needs as detailed in their care plan.
- To supervise the delivery of an appropriate range of arts, crafts and leisure activities for service users dependent on age range and abilities.
- To work alongside the Activity Coordinator in managing behaviours and dealing with behaviours that challenge, adhering to strategies and procedures detailed in individual care plans, Play Inclusion Project’s policies and procedures and in line with legislation.
- To ensure you remain up to date with each child/young person’s individual care plan.
- To ensure all sessions are delivered in a caring and secure environment.
- Ensuring planned activities are set up and available to the children and young people.
- To actively promote the independence of each service user.
- To actively encourage children and young people to take part in organised activities, arts and crafts and free play with others.
- To take part in activities alongside children and young people.
- To ensure each session is delievered within an equal opportunity framework.
- To promote effective communication and relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and service users, to be aware of communication difficulties and adopt an approach which minimises the impact of such difficulties.
- To consult with children and involve them in the planning of activities and trips available to them.
- To adhere to Play Inclusion Project’s Policies and Procedures (Activity Coordinators have the Policy file at all times).
- To ensure confidentiality is maintained in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and in line with GDPR - ensuring that personal details are not disclosed to any unauthorised person.
- To ensure a high-standards of dress, hygiene and cleanliness
- To ensure that the child/young person you are supporting is collected by the correct person.
- Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from different cultures, religion and backgrounds.
- To be responsible for Health & Safety Standards appropriate for the needs of children.
- To assist in the recording of accidents, incidents, administration of medication and intimate care where necessary.
- To be aware of the high profile of the Activity Club/Group and to uphold their standards at all times.
- To agree to abide by the ‘Staff Code of Conduct’ at all times.

This is not an exhaustive list, the job holder may be required to undertake such other duties as the Activity Coordinator or Charity Manager may from time to time reasonably require.
