**About the Opportunity**
We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain/Buyer to join our team in the Birchwood, Warrington Office. You will report to the Senior Project Manager/Project Sponsor and be responsible for the ownership and implementation of the procurement strategy and be accountable for a range of core procurement/ supply chain skillsets.

**Responsible and accountable for**:
**Procurement**
- Liaising with technical Point of Contact to identify and narrow down potential subcontractors/vendors.
- Preparation of Invitation to Tender documents for numerous procurement items, including inputting into procurement strategy documents as required, as well as developing vendor assessment proposals, scoring criteria and running appropriate Vendor background checks.
- Preparation of Subcontract Procurement Strategy documents for identified packages
- Carrying out tender evaluations and conducting negotiations to enable the shortlisting of suppliers
- Owning the Procurement Strategy including liaising with Quality to define Quality Grades
- Supporting revalidation of expired contract prices.
- Evaluation and conditioning of supplier responses

**Co-ordinating**
- Interface between procurement, engineering, and other project disciplines
- Determining the requirements of, and collating information packs to go out to suppliers
- Arrangements of clarification meetings during bid process
- Arranging discussions with suppliers and discussions of specifications/datasheets
- Liaise with the project team to assist with the resolution of supply issues as and when required

**Expediting**
- Bid Process management to ensure right activities are being completed and prioritised at right time
- Issuing of agreed design documentation identified on Package Document list or Technical Requisition
- Tracking progress of all supply chain/procurement activities and bids
- Providing support to the Senior Buyer in writing request for quotes

**Here’s What You’ll Need**: Experience / Skills**:

- Proven capability of working within an EPCC project team and leading Sub-Contract Procurement activities to include but not limited to maintaining supplier relationships, ability to negotiate effectively with Subcontractors, management of Subcontract Order documents while maintaining process compliance.
- Effective commercial / contract management skills are essential, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies.
- Good commercial skills and ability to make sound decisions on matters of financial value.
- Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
- Familiarity with most common Forms of Contract (NEC); with particular knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and supply chain is essential.
- Familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.
- Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
- Experience in EPC delivery and supply chain assessment therein using scoring criteria
- This role will not require you to manage any of team members
