**Job Title: Children’s Care Practitioner**

**Salary: Up to £26,500.00 per annum, including annual sleep in allowance and dependant on experience plus welcome bonus of £200 - £300 and *another £200 - £300 once you pass your probation (minimum six months)**

**Location: Wem, Shropshire**

**Hours: 40 hours per week - 2 days on, 4 days off shift pattern**

Acorn Education and Care, are recruiting Children Care Workers to join our teams within the Whitchurch area. Our registered independent homes offer residential care for vulnerable children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)and Complex Needs.

We are recruiting Children’s Care Workers to join our teams within the Witchurch area. Your empathy and warmth will enable you to support vulnerable children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). This means that the Children we carefor may have experienced challenging or traumatic upbringings and may have difficulties with anxiety, mental health or in some cases self-harm. That’s why we’re looking for calm, conscientious and kind people who can take care of the daily needs of the children-vital help that can transform their lives

The homes are within commutable distance from Wrexham, Nantwich, Whitchurch, Chester and surrounds.

**Contracts available - Full Time Days**

**Who we are looking for**:

- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare preferred but not essential
- Previous Residential Care experience
- People with a big heart and passion to make a difference to the residents’ lives
- Understanding that the people we care for can be challenging
- Be patient, resilient and calming
- Become the “go to” person for help, support and guidance with their everyday needs
- Willingness to learn not only about the people we support, but the ins and outs of Children’s Residential Care, by working towards a **funded qualification in Level 4 Apprenticeship for Children Young People and Families Practitioner(ifyou do not currently hold this or equivalent)**
