Want to join us? As a Senior Water Operative in the Tayside Area, you’ll be on the front lines of making sure Scotland’s water is totally, dependably pure.

What you’ll do

You’ll join an experienced team that really knows its water, helping to monitor and maintain the quality of water at our treatment works and pumping stations.

As a Senior Water Operator, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Team Leader to keep providing the highest level of potable water You probably figured it out already, but our aim is always to go beyond what the law and regulations expect of us.

Your contribution will be crucial in ensuring that all our water treatment processes meet regulatory and legislative requirements, including those vital health and safety procedures like risk assessments. Safety first, always

What you’ll need

We need someone with a proven track record of managing workloads, making sure the team hits their targets and achieves those objectives Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will come in handy as you interact with people with varying levels of knowledge, making sure everyone's on the same page. Plus, your IT skills, especially your proficiency with Microsoft Office software, will make your life and work much smoother.

Flexibility is key You'll be great at planning and prioritizing your work while remaining open to changes in priorities. You'll be a strong team player who can collaborate effectively with others, creating a positive learning environment for your team members.

But that's not all We want someone who can engage constructively and proactively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Building those relationships is essential in our mission to deliver top-notch water services.

The role might require you to work outside normal hours, including weekends, and be on call on a rotational basis. All for the good of Scotland’s water. You’ll also need a valid driving licence, but we’ll provide the van

This role will be require you to work 37 hours a week. You will participate in a 1 in 4 standby rota and work 5 days a week within our core hours 07:00 to 19:00 including weekend and bank holiday working.

But you’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.

The not-so-small print

The salary range for this role is £24,741 to £35,566.

Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. These checks are conducted on our behalf by a third party. Don’t worry - we’ll ask your permission before starting these checks.
