My clients who are a leading technical manufacturing business are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager based in Hertfordshire to join on a permanent basis.

Joining a large-scale manufacturer, this role will join an established procurement division managing a team of Buyers / Senior Buyers, people management skill is essential.

Role - Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager

Location - Hertfordshire

Type - Permanent position

Salary - £45,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits

Key responsibilities of the Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager role and not be limited to:

- Create a clear vision for the Operational Procurement Team, providing direction and functional support
- Be the single owner of all Operational Procurement and as such dealing with multiple levels of stakeholders, including Heads Of, senior programme, manufacturing and technical personnel.
- Deliver strategic change through best practice and functional excellence
- Driving the delivery of key Supply Chain objectives, with particular focus on innovative procurement efficiencies to achieve long term savings and lead time reduction
- Responsible for the production and reporting of Procurement KPIs, identifying, monitoring and delivering of specific procurement opportunities. This will involve briefing within the Procurement Team, Senior Management and above.
- Promote good internal Procurement practices with the aim of eliminating rogue purchases
- Deputy for the Procurement Manager and as such dealing with senior programme and Heads of for all Procurement activity

Key skills and experience required for Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager role and not limited to:

- Technical manufacturing background
- People management skill is essential
- Ideally degree educated or CIPS qualified would be a bonus and not essential
- Proven track record in providing functional support and driving procurement efficiencies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
