**Why we need you**: Alzheimer's Society is here for anyone affected by dementia and we are passionate about ensuring that people can access support, information and guidance that is right for them. We are keen to reach people in all communities, including those who may be more at risk of being isolated through language, accessibility needs, identity or background. Community Link Volunteers play a crucial role in building community links and raising awareness of the services that are available.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Creating and strengthening relationships with communities and individuals. - Taking part in events and talking to groups to raise awareness of dementia and the support services available. - Helping to identify people affected by dementia who can share their dementia story with their wider community and Alzheimer's Society. - Signposting people to access services that are provided by Alzheimer's Society.

**This role will suit you if you**:

- Have a confident and friendly approach and are committed to including people from all backgrounds treating them with dignity and as individuals. - Have a good knowledge and understanding of the local community. - Have excellent communication skills and be able to talk to a variety of audiences (the ability to communicate in languages other than English is not essential but may be helpful).

**What we need from you**: To ensure the safety and security of people with dementia we ask for: - One reference and proof of identity. - To put the role into practice most effectively volunteers are recommended to continue for at least 6 months. - Learning at the start will take about 2 hours, followed by periodic refreshers. - You will need your own computer, internet access and phone.
