**The difference you will make as an Apprentice**

The primary goal of this apprenticeship is to equip you with the skills to offer regulatory and technical advice, ensuring compliance with information governance (IG) and data protection (DP) laws. You will contribute to planning IG and DP activities, provide advice and training, and support senior teams in developing information management strategies.

You will interact with internal stakeholders such as IT, Legal, People Services, and senior management, as well as external stakeholders including customers, regulatory authorities, and technology vendors. You will assist in managing information requests, overseeing compliance with information management, and maintaining governance frameworks.

**About you**

We are looking for someone with
- GCSE Maths and English Grade C or Above
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

**Role Profile**
- Policy Development and Review: Contribute to policies and guidance for statutory and regulatory compliance in IG and DP.
- Retention Schedules: Review and maintain retention schedules, provide specialist support for data disposal compliance.
- Training: Develop and deliver IG and DP training for internal stakeholders such as IT, legal, HR, marketing, senior management, and the board.
- Records of Processing: Co-ordinate and support formal records of processing activities in line with legislation and good practice.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse data and present outcomes on key risk, trend, and performance indicators to stakeholders.
- Information Requests: Manage and respond to Data Protection rights requests within statutory deadlines.
- DPIA: Undertake or assist in DPIAs to identify and mitigate potential risks, monitor risk status.
- Data Breaches: Investigate personal data breaches, provide advice, and escalate to the Supervisory Authority if needed.
- Audits: Conduct routine and ad-hoc data protection audits and testing controls, produce audit reports for senior managers.
- Specialist Advice: Provide day-to-day support and specialist advice on IG and DP compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of systems and processes to keep procedures updated with technology and legislative changes.Regulatory Toolkits: Support the completion and submission of industry or regulatory toolkits and control frameworks or standards.
