**JOB TITLE**:Senior Payroll Officer
**LOCATION**:Bridgwater, Somerset
**HOURS**: 8.45am - 5.15pm, Monday to Friday

**KEY DUTIES**:
- End to end payroll processing for approx. 270 employees over 6 companies.
- Liaising with PEO of international salary processing, queries, reporting etc.
- Processing starters and leavers.
- Checking time sheets using a Time and Attendance system for absences and overtime to calculate correct pay for hours worked.
- Compiling payroll data and producing monthly and annual payroll reports in line with Business requirements.
- Preparation of Key performance indicators for Board reporting.
- Calculate holiday entitlements and accurately process all Employee Absence.
- Timely and accurate administration of payroll changes.
- Prepare and understand SSP, SMP, SPP calculation.
- Balancing and submission of pension contributions.
- Administration and knowledge of Auto Enrolment. Process Auto Enrolment pensions to meet legal obligations including enrolment.
- Maintaining employee records within the payroll system in line with contract changes.
- Query resolution - investigation and solving of payroll discrepancies. Provide support to employees to resolve any payroll queries, including tax queries and statutory calculations and managing corrections.
- HR Administration tasks - issuing of contracts, sickness monitoring, supporting managers in HR issues where appropriate.
- Working closely with all Heads of Departments to improve processes and bring about positive change.
- Prepare information for Finance team in relation to payroll and Journals.
**THE PERSON**:
You will be highly experienced in Payroll, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment and have knowledge of current UK payroll practices and processes. You will have experience of processing payroll from beginning to end using a noted payrollsystem. You will have good communication skills, coupled with a practical understanding of statutory payments and deductions, how they are calculated and be able to explain, if necessary, changes or revisions. You will hold an accounting qualification, preferablyAAT Level 3 or successfully completed a BTEC Level 3 Payroll Techniques or CIPP Payroll Technician.
