Here at **Langdons**,we havean exciting opportunity for a**Payroll Assistant** to join the team based at our**Bridgwaterdepot.**You will be working on a **Fulltime, Temporary basis covering maternity leave**, Monday - Friday Days (08:30 - 16:30) and in return you’ll receive a **competitive salary of £23,000 per annum.**

We have 9 depots and over 375 lorries carrying chilled and frozen food all over the country. We’re the onlycompany providing a 24-hour service of this kind, and we’re very good at it.

**ThePayroll Assistant role**:
Your role will be to provide a customer-focused and legally compliant Payroll support service for a designated group of staff.
**What you’ll be doing as our Payroll Assistant**:
- Process employee information accurately, managing and preventing underpayments/overpayments, including checking colleagues’ work
- Act as the first point of contact for all payroll and benefit-related queries
- Ensure that all employee-related documentation required for payroll and pension payments processing is in place
- Maintain company-wide HR & payroll systems and ensures that associated employee records are updated and maintained in accordance with company retention procedures
- Assist the Payroll Team Leader with the development and management of company HR & Payroll systems and associated software
- Prepare reports and participate in ad hoc HR & payroll related projects where required
**What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Payroll Assistant ?**
- Qualified to Level 3 Payroll Administration standard or equivalent
- Experienced in working with staff at all levels and working in a team-based office environment in a customer-facing role
- Committed to ongoing professional development
- Experience in coaching and supporting others to perform in their role
- IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and databases/company systems
**What skills and abilities are we looking for in our Payroll Assistant ?**
- Ability to use initiative and organise work so that key tasks can be completed fully and on time
- Ability to work to set targets and deadlines as well as manage longer-term projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and confident to challenge discrepancies
- Ability to act with sensitivity and influence others to take a particular course of action
- Ability to analyse and present relevant information in an accessible and presentable format
